Specializing in general ultrasound imaging, this contract opportunity offers the chance to work within a dynamic, high-volume hospital setting, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and collaborating with a supportive team. You’ll play a vital role in the care of patients facing a variety of diagnoses, including cancer, stroke, and cardiac events. Expect a fast-paced environment with diverse cases and the ability to float between a main hospital and an advanced outpatient imaging center.
Schedule and Shifts:
- 12-hour overnight shifts: 1900–0700
- Schedule cycle: every 13 weeks
- Weekend work as needed; no set rotation
- 75% of holidays required
- Minimal on-call duties
Required Experience and Credentials:
- At least 1 year of ultrasound/sonography experience (first-time travelers not accepted)
- ARDMS (no specific anatomy certification required) or ARRT required
- BLS certification
- Strong vascular imaging skills essential
- Fast learner able to multitask under pressure
- Familiarity with Siemens Sequoia, P2000 ultrasound systems, and EPIC EMR a plus
- Photo ID (collected during compliance process)
- NC state licensure not required
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures for a range of patient conditions (oncology, stroke, infectious disease, cardiology)
- Operate advanced ultrasound equipment efficiently
- Document accurately in EMR (EPIC)
- Adapt to floating between the main hospital and outpatient imaging center as patient volume demands
- Maintain professional interactions with radiology students and multidisciplinary staff
- Follow departmental guidelines, including scrub uniform (black) and attend scheduled orientation
