Take on a dynamic role in a new and advanced environment, performing essential ultrasound and general sonography for emergency department patients. This contract position is tailored for experienced Imaging professionals, offering the chance to work in a technologically advanced facility with state-of-the-art equipment, including Siemens Sequoia, Philips iSite PACS, and Epic EMR/Radiant RIS. The department averages 45 ED visits per day, with a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach prioritized for optimal patient care.

Schedule

  • 12-hour night shifts (36 hours per week)
  • 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
  • Every weekend required
  • On call two nights monthly (nights chosen by technologist)
  • 75% holiday coverage expectation

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in general ultrasound, preferably within an emergency department
  • Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (S)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Permitted: First-time travelers
  • Required: Permanent residence at least 50 miles from assigned unit

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform general emergency department ultrasound studies (averaging 5 per day)
  • Cross-train and provide assistance with vital signs, EKGs, patient transport, and serve as sitter for behavioral health needs when required
  • Assist with line and lab patients as needed
  • Collaborate closely with other modalities and support departments for efficient patient flow
  • Maintain documentation using Epic EMR and Epic Radiant RIS
