Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an Ultrasound Technologist or Sonographer with expertise in general imaging.
  • Active certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Knowledge and understanding of infection control and sterile techniques.
  • Strong communication abilities for effective patient and team interactions.
  • Ability to educate and assist students and other Radiology Technologists as needed.
  • Experience with operating ultrasound equipment and relevant information systems.
  • Comfortable prioritizing tasks and responding effectively in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Confirm patient identification, verify orders, and prepare patients for ultrasound exams.
  • Perform ultrasound studies following departmental protocols, ensuring image quality and accuracy.
  • Complete studies within standard time frames while upholding patient care and quality standards.
  • Provide clear patient education, address questions or concerns, and maintain a welcoming exam environment.
  • Document procedures, maintain patient records, and report any adverse events or equipment issues.
  • Adhere to protocols for coding, billing, medical necessity, quality control, consent, and reporting.
  • Perform vascular procedures as required and maintain high cleaning standards for all equipment.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining professionalism.
