A healthcare opportunity is available for a skilled Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer with general ultrasound expertise and vascular ultrasound skills in Dearborn, MI. This contract position requires a motivated professional with ARDMS certification and current BLS certification to perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging under the direction of a Radiologist in a busy hospital environment.

Qualifications and Desired Experience
- ARDMS accreditation is required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience performing general and vascular ultrasound examinations
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
- Ability to adapt to variable shifts, including day, afternoon, and weekend hours
Schedule/Hours
- Variable shifts Monday through Friday, including:
- 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
- 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
- 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
- 2:30 pm – 10:30 pm
- Weekend shifts possible (7:00 am – 3:00 pm and 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm)
- Shift schedules may be assigned on a 6-week basis
- Hours vary based on patient census and department needs; not guaranteed 40 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Perform general and vascular ultrasound imaging and procedures as ordered by a physician
- Prepare patients by explaining procedures, reviewing clinical history, and ensuring comfort and safety
- Setup and operate ultrasound equipment, utilizing proper radiographic techniques and radiation safety practices
- Monitor patients during procedures and assist with intravenous contrast administration if applicable
- Maintain equipment, replenish supplies, and adhere to infection control protocols
- Accurately document procedures using departmental systems including PACS and RIS
- Participate in training and education of new staff and students as needed
- Uphold departmental standards including patient privacy, confidentiality, and quality of care
This position offers a stimulating working environment with exposure to a range of inpatient, outpatient, and emergency cases. The contract length is approximately 13 weeks, with consideration for shorter durations of 8 or 10 weeks.
