A healthcare role is available for a skilled Ultrasound Technologist with expertise in general and vascular ultrasound imaging. This contract position offers a dynamic clinical environment focused on diagnostic imaging with opportunities to engage with a broad patient population, including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general and vascular ultrasound procedures following physician orders and department protocols.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining the procedure and obtaining relevant medical history.
- Set up and operate ultrasound imaging equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and patient safety.
- Administer intravenous contrast media as required and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Maintain sterile environments and replenish necessary supplies.
- Complete accurate documentation and imaging data management within PACS and RIS systems.
- Uphold high standards of patient care, privacy, and team communication.
- Act as a resource for educating new staff and students as needed.
Desired Qualifications:
- ARDMS certification is mandatory.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Demonstrated experience in general ultrasound imaging; vascular ultrasound skills preferred.
- Strong communication abilities and a self-starting attitude.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, afternoons, and weekends.
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday shifts with varying start times (7 AM to 10:30 PM).
- Weekend coverage with both morning and evening shifts.
- Schedule potentially assigned in 6-week blocks.
- Hours based on departmental needs; 40-hour workweeks are not guaranteed.
Contract Length:
- The assignment will last approximately 13 weeks, with consideration for shorter durations of 8 to 10 weeks if preferred.
Location Overview: Situated in Warren, MI, this role allows you to work within a busy hospital setting with a typical census between 165 and 200 patients.
