Responsibilities:

• Perform microscopic evaluations of gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens to identify abnormal or malignant cells.
• Accurately prepare, stain, and screen specimens following laboratory protocols.
• Record comprehensive findings and maintain precise documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with other laboratory professionals and pathologists to verify diagnoses and facilitate timely patient results.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment.
• Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with developments in cytology.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a laboratory science or related field.
• Completion of an accredited cytotechnology program.
• Certification as a Cytologist (ASCP or equivalent).
• Previous experience in laboratory cytology strongly preferred.
• Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment and digital record systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of quality control, laboratory safety, and HIPAA regulations.
