Cytologist - Pinson, AL

Key Qualifications:

• Certification as a Cytologist or Cytotechnologist (ASCP or equivalent required)
• Experience preparing, staining, and evaluating cytology specimens (gynecologic and non-gynecologic)
• Comprehensive understanding of laboratory safety and quality assurance protocols
• Ability to effectively utilize laboratory equipment and information management systems
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify cellular abnormalities
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality standards

Core Responsibilities:

• Prepare and evaluate slides of cellular samples for diagnostic review, including Pap smears and other body fluids
• Accurately document findings and collaborate with pathologists to ensure prompt, accurate reporting
• Maintain quality control measures and adhere to laboratory safety practices at all times
• Participate in ongoing proficiency testing and continuing education as required
• Contribute to laboratory workflow by assisting with specimen processing and other related tasks
• Support laboratory accreditation and compliance efforts
