Histology Technologist | Dearborn, Michigan

This contract role offers the opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team, supporting critical functions in the histology laboratory.

Schedule:

• Afternoon shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday

Key Qualifications:

• 4-5 years of professional experience in histology, laboratory technology, or as a histologist
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or a related field
• Current ASCP certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL)
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Comprehensive understanding of histology principles, techniques, and laboratory safety protocols
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently within required time frames

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare, cut, stain, and mount tissue specimens for microscopic examination and diagnosis
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment in accordance with established protocols
• Ensure accurate labeling and handling of all specimens throughout processing
• Maintain high standards for specimen quality and documentation in compliance with laboratory policies
• Collaborate closely with pathologists, laboratory personnel, and other healthcare professionals
• Uphold rigorous safety and quality control standards at all times

This opportunity is for a 13-week contract, ideal for experienced histology technicians looking to make immediate contributions in a reputable healthcare environment. The role involves a brief, 30-minute interview conducted via MS Teams.
