Scheduling Information:
- ALL shifts available, with high demand for 2nd & 3rd shift
- Shift differential: $3/hour for 2nd shift, $3.50/hour for 3rd shift (minimum of 4 hours per shift required for differential)
- Flexible scheduling for multiple openings
Responsibilities:
- Prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination, including embedding, cutting, and both histo- and immunocytochemical staining following physician requests
- Process specimens for molecular testing, troubleshoot laboratory processes, and escalate issues as needed
- Handle stat and high-volume requests efficiently to support timely diagnosis
- Perform and carefully document maintenance of laboratory instruments and quality control activities
- Train and support fellow Histotechnicians and Histotechnologists, providing clear direction and oversight
- Grossly identify tissue adequacy in the operating room, effectively communicate with medical staff, and ensure proper specimen handling and fixation
- Additional duties may be assigned in line with departmental needs
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of professional histology laboratory experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field
- Certified as a Histotechnician (ASCP) or Histotechnologist (ASCP)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to quality standards and patient care
