As part of the Histopathology Department, you'll play a vital role in preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination and performing advanced histochemical and immunocytochemical testing. Schedule:

• Multiple positions open across all shifts
• 2nd and 3rd shifts are especially in demand (shift hours can vary)
• Additional shift differential compensation applies when 4 hours or more per shift are worked: $3/hr for 2nd shift, $3.50/hr for 3rd shift

Key Responsibilities:

• Process, embed, cut, and stain tissue samples, including special and immunocytochemical techniques as requested by pathologists
• Ensure high-quality, accurate test results for both routine and stat requests
• Maintain and document instrument maintenance and quality control
• Support and mentor other staff and provide training for Histotechnologists and Histotechnicians
• Evaluate tissue adequacy during surgical procedures, communicating directly with attendings/fellows and ensuring proper specimen handling
• Assist with specimen processing for molecular testing and troubleshoot processes as required
• Perform additional duties as necessary to support laboratory operations

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Histotechnician or Histotechnologist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is required
• At least 1 year of relevant laboratory work experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive with a high-volume workload
