This direct hire opportunity calls for an experienced healthcare professional with a strong background in laboratory histology and management. You will provide both technical guidance and operational leadership, ensuring quality, compliance, and excellent team performance within the laboratory. This position comes with a competitive annual salary of $162,240.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and coordinate laboratory programs and activities, maintaining overall fiscal accountability for the assigned section(s)
- Develop work goals and objectives grounded in organization plans and forecasts; oversee budgeting and program development
- Track and review payroll, manage overtime and FlexPTO, and conduct performance appraisals
- Foster continuous improvement, participate in quality management initiatives, and implement creative solutions to business processes
- Provide clinical expertise, coach less experienced staff, and act as a role model for care standards
- Deliver people management through counseling, career development, conflict resolution, and setting/assessing objectives for subordinates
- Lead operations planning: forecast resource needs, prioritize tasks, define dependencies, schedule work, and manage complex projects
- Interpret, explain, and train others on applicable rules and regulations, ensuring compliance in challenging situations
- Cultivate positive work climate and united team culture, inspiring high performance and commitment
Required Experience & Credentials:
- Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, ideally with histology and leadership responsibilities
- Active LIC-Licensed Medical Laboratory Supervisor with the Tennessee Medical Lab Board
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical, technical, business, and people management
- Strong leadership, communication, and operations planning skills
