Histology Technician in Rochester, MI

An opportunity is available for a skilled professional experienced in Laboratory Histology, Histology Technology, or as a Histologist. This contract position is set for 13 weeks and supports essential laboratory functions on an afternoon shift.

Schedule:

• Afternoon shift: 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm, Monday through Friday

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4-5 years of recent histology laboratory experience
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
• Current HT (Histotechnician) or HTL (Histotechnologist) certification required
• Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and proficiency with laboratory protocols
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a laboratory team

Responsibilities:

• Perform histology procedures including tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment according to established protocols
• Prepare, label, and analyze tissue samples for diagnostic evaluation
• Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to quality and safety standards
• Collaborate with pathologists and clinical staff for timely specimen analysis and reporting
• Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and ensure organized workspaces
• Support compliance with laboratory regulations and participate in continuing education as needed
