Histology Technician in Sterling Heights, MI

Skilled professionals in histology are invited to apply for a contract opportunity specializing in laboratory histology. This 13-week role places you alongside an expert diagnostics team, ensuring the accurate preparation and analysis of tissue specimens.

Schedule:

• Afternoon shift: Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

Desired Qualifications:

• 4–5 years of relevant experience in histology or a histology laboratory setting
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline
• Current HT (Histotechnician) or HTL (Histotechnologist) certification required
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Adept in laboratory best practices, maintaining regulatory standards for quality and safety
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Comfortable with digital laboratory systems and MS Teams for collaboration and interviews

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, process, and stain tissue specimens in accordance with rigorous laboratory protocols
• Collaborate with pathologists and technologists to ensure timely, high-quality diagnostic results
• Operate and maintain sophisticated histology laboratory equipment
• Contribute to laboratory quality control and assurance initiatives
• Uphold lab safety by following all regulations, including appropriate documentation and reporting
• Assist in the implementation of new technologies and procedures as needed
