Laboratory Technician - Alger, Michigan

An exciting opportunity awaits skilled Medical Laboratory Technicians seeking their next role in a dynamic healthcare environment. This contract position focuses on delivering essential laboratory services and accurate testing in a fast-paced setting. Schedule:

• Night shifts
• 7 days on/7 days off OR four 10-hour shifts (8:00 PM – 6:30 AM) followed by three 12-hour shifts (8:00 PM – 8:30 AM)
• 36-hour guarantee per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities

Key Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field required
• Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP or equivalent)
• Clinical laboratory experience (hospital or reference lab setting preferred)
• Thorough understanding of laboratory safety and quality control procedures
• Skilled in performing, analyzing, and interpreting a broad range of laboratory tests
• Strong computer and documentation skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Accurately perform laboratory procedures, including specimen collection, processing, analysis, and result reporting
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment
• Adhere to established protocols and standards for specimen integrity and test validity
• Collaborate with fellow laboratory staff and clinical teams to support quality patient care
• Maintain organized and detailed records of laboratory activities and proficiency testing
• Support inventory management by monitoring and replenishing laboratory supplies as needed

This is a 13-week contract offering hands-on experience with diverse laboratory testing and operational processes. The flexible night shift schedule provides consistency and excellent work-life balance for those with evening availability.
