Exciting opportunities are available for experienced Medical Laboratory Technicians interested in contract laboratory roles. This position provides vital support in laboratory operations, ensuring accurate and timely analysis crucial to patient care. The assignment is for a 13-week duration and offers a structured schedule, working primarily night shifts with the following rotation: 7 days on and 7 days off, alternating with a block of four 10-hour shifts (8:00 PM – 6:30 AM) followed by three 12-hour shifts (8:00 PM – 8:30 AM). There is a 36-hour per week guarantee, and every other weekend coverage is required. No on-call responsibilities are included.

Key Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field required
  • Current MLT certification (ASCP or equivalent) is mandatory
  • At least 1 year of recent experience as a Medical Lab Technician in a clinical laboratory
  • Proficiency with laboratory analyzers, instrumentation, and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated understanding of specimen handling requirements and laboratory safety protocols
  • Commitment to high standards of quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently during night shifts

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform specimen collection, preparation, and analysis across a range of laboratory tests
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
  • Accurately document all procedures, results, and quality control data
  • Communicate effectively with staff and other healthcare professionals regarding critical lab values
  • Adhere to all laboratory and hospital policies, especially those related to safety and confidentiality
  • Maintain organized workspaces and assist with inventory management
