Medical Lab Technologist (MLT) | Axton, Virginia

An exciting opportunity awaits for a skilled laboratory professional to contribute their expertise as a Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician. This role plays a vital part in supporting patient care through accurate laboratory analysis. The position is structured as a contract assignment, providing the chance to make a meaningful impact while gaining valuable experience.

Schedule:

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 3 shifts per week (12-hour shifts)

Key Qualifications:

• Certification or licensure as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Lab Technician (MLT)
• Demonstrated experience performing a broad range of laboratory tests within a clinical laboratory setting
• Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols, quality control, and specimen handling procedures
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems and general laboratory instrumentation
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory procedures for diagnostic and monitoring purposes
• Analyze blood, urine, and other biological samples adhering to standard methodologies
• Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Document test results accurately and communicate findings to healthcare providers in a timely manner
• Maintain compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal quality standards
• Assist with inventory management and ordering of laboratory supplies
