Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Technician license required
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field for Technologist role; Associate’s degree for Technician
- Experience as a Generalist, with proficiency in core lab disciplines (chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, blood bank)
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team
- Effective communication skills for relaying results and collaborating with providers
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and validate complex diagnostic testing across various labs, ensuring integrity and accuracy of results
- Maintain and operate laboratory equipment, troubleshooting issues as they arise
- Document all laboratory work in accordance with internal policies and regulatory standards
- Review and interpret specimen results, ensuring timely reporting to medical professionals
- Participate in ongoing quality assurance and laboratory performance improvement initiatives
- Remain compliant with safety protocols, standard precautions, and laboratory best practices
