Medical Lab Technologist (MLT) | Big Pine Key, Florida

Schedule:

• 3 on / 3 off rotation
• Standard weeks: 6 p.m. – 6 a.m., 36 hours per week
• Periodic weeks: Four shifts (two 9-hour, two 12-hour), totaling 42 hours per week

Key Qualifications:

• Must be certified as a Medical Technologist (ASCP preferred; AMT or AAB also accepted)
• Possess a current State of Florida laboratory license
• Hold a college diploma or provide transcripts (required for submission)
• Prior experience as a generalist, comfortable performing across core laboratory disciplines
• Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and methodologies

Responsibilities Include:

• Performing and interpreting complex laboratory tests across multiple areas (chemistry, hematology, immunology, blood bank, and microbiology)
• Working independently on night shifts to process samples, monitor quality controls, and validate results
• Collaborating with healthcare staff to ensure timely and accurate specimen analysis
• Maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards and laboratory protocols
• Documenting findings, maintaining detailed records, and ensuring strict specimen integrity
