Medical Lab Technologist (MLT) | Blanchard, Oklahoma

An exciting contract opportunity is available for an experienced Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician skilled in clinical laboratory science. The ideal candidate will contribute a strong background in blood banking and phlebotomy to ensure accurate, timely testing and effective patient care.

Schedule/Hours:

• 10-13 week assignment
• Flexible scheduling: Choose between four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts per week

Required Qualifications:

• Certification as ASCP or MT (American Society of Clinical Pathology or Medical Technologist)
• Proven experience as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician
• Demonstrated proficiency in blood banking procedures and protocols
• Phlebotomy skills, including specimen collection, labeling, and processing
• Familiarity with laboratory instruments, quality control, and safety standards
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain strict attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a wide range of laboratory tests and analyses to provide critical data for clinical decision-making
• Conduct blood banking duties, including cross-matching, antibody detection, and compatibility testing
• Carry out phlebotomy tasks, ensuring accuracy in sample collection and patient identification
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation; perform calibration, quality assurance, and troubleshooting as needed
• Record and report test results accurately, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with regulations
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support high-quality patient care
• Adhere to established laboratory protocols, safety regulations, and infection control guidelines
