Key Details:
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Schedule: Multiple shifts available
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist or Medical Lab Technician (ASCP or equivalent)
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
- Proven experience operating laboratory instruments and performing testing in a clinical laboratory setting
- Strong understanding of quality control procedures, laboratory safety, and regulatory standards
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with providers, laboratory staff, and other healthcare team members
Responsibilities:
- Accurately perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, and blood bank as needed
- Analyze, interpret, and report laboratory results to assist in diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases
- Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment, ensuring equipment is calibrated and functioning properly
- Perform quality control and quality assurance activities, recognizing anomalies and troubleshooting as necessary
- Adhere to all hospital and laboratory policies, including infection control and confidentiality protocols
- Maintain organized records, participate in proficiency testing, and assist in training new staff or students as requested
