A highly skilled medical technologist or medical lab technician is needed to perform a broad range of laboratory testing in a generalist role. This contract position requires expertise in laboratory operations and offers the opportunity to contribute to efficient, high-quality patient care.
Schedule:
- Four 10-hour night shifts each week
Key Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Medical Technologist (MT/MLS) or Medical Lab Technician (MLT)
- Proficiency with routine and specialized laboratory procedures across hematology, chemistry, immunology, and microbiology
- Reliable experience operating and maintaining laboratory instruments
- Thorough understanding of specimen collection, handling, and processing protocols
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work independently on night shifts
- Excellent communication skills for reporting and discussing results with clinical staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform generalist clinical laboratory tests as assigned for a variety of patient populations
- Accurately document and report laboratory results in accordance with regulatory and facility guidelines
- Maintain quality control standards and participate in ongoing quality assurance processes
- Ensure laboratory equipment is cleaned, maintained, and functioning properly
- Uphold strict safety, infection control, and confidentiality protocols at all times
- Collaborate effectively with medical personnel to support patient diagnoses and treatments
This assignment spans 26 weeks and requires the ability to reliably commute to the facility for scheduled shifts.
