Medical Technologist in Lauderdale, MS

An opportunity is available for a skilled laboratory professional to serve as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Generalist. This contract role is designed for an individual eager to make an impact within a dynamic healthcare environment.

Schedule:

• 4x10 hour night shifts per week

Assignment Duration:

• 26 weeks

Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), or equivalent
• Experience functioning as a Generalist in a clinical laboratory setting
• Strong working knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and quality control
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently on night shifts
• Demonstrated commitment to upholding laboratory safety protocols
• Proven effective communication and collaboration with healthcare teams

Responsibilities:

• Perform and analyze a complete range of laboratory tests across multiple disciplines, ensuring timely and accurate results
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
• Oversee daily quality control procedures and maintain lab compliance standards
• Document and communicate abnormal test findings promptly to appropriate medical staff
• Manage specimen collection, processing, and storage according to established procedures
• Adhere strictly to infection control and safety guidelines at all times
