Medical Lab Technologist (MLT) - Long Key, Florida

Deliver vital laboratory services in a dynamic healthcare setting as a skilled Medical Technologist. In this generalist role, you’ll support diagnostic excellence across multiple disciplines, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all areas of the laboratory. Your expertise as a Medical Technologist—rather than MLT—will be highly valued as you work a consistent 6:00 pm to 6:00 am shift (36 hours per week) for a 24-week assignment, with extension opportunities available.

Schedule:

• 6:00 pm – 6:00 am
• 36 hours per week

Qualifications:

• ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification required
• State of Florida laboratory license required
• Completion of college degree in a relevant field (diploma or transcripts required)
• Experience as a generalist Medical Technologist—proficiency across chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunology
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently in overnight shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and report laboratory tests accurately in all generalist areas
• Follow protocols for specimen handling and lab safety
• Calibrate and maintain equipment to ensure reliable results
• Analyze test findings to assist clinical staff in patient care decisions
• Collaborate with nursing and physician teams, providing timely updates on critical results
• Participate in quality assurance, continuing education, and process improvement initiatives
