Medical Lab Technologist (MLT) | Long Key, Florida

Schedule:

• 3 on, 3 off rotation, night shift (6:00pm – 6:00am), typically 36 hours per week
• Some weeks include four shifts (2 x 9-hour and 2 x 12-hour), totaling 42 hours

Key Qualifications:

• Certification required: ASCP, AMT, or AAB (must be a Medical Technologist – MLTs are not eligible)
• Current State of Florida laboratory license
• College diploma or transcripts (must be included with submission)
• Demonstrated experience as a well-rounded generalist in a clinical laboratory environment
• Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Effective communicator with a collaborative approach to working in fast-paced settings

Responsibilities:

• Conduct complex testing and analysis on laboratory specimens across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and blood bank
• Perform quality control procedures and maintain equipment, adhering to laboratory protocols and safety standards
• Accurately document and report results, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
• Problem-solve technical issues and troubleshoot instrumentation as needed
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to support patient care decisions
