An opportunity is available for an experienced medical technologist to join a clinical laboratory team in a full-time, permanent capacity. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong background as a generalist, with particular expertise in blood bank procedures. Qualifications:
- Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license required
- Prior experience as a laboratory generalist, with strong proficiency in blood bank operations
- Formal certification with ASCP is not required
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Effective communicator with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a clinical environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of tests and diagnostic procedures across all laboratory sections, with an emphasis on transfusion medicine and blood banking
- Process, analyze, and interpret laboratory specimens according to established protocols
- Maintain accurate records and ensure quality control standards are consistently met
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to provide timely and reliable test results
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and troubleshoot minor equipment issues
- Adhere to all safety and regulatory requirements, including laboratory accreditation standards
