This contract role calls for a knowledgeable professional to perform essential lab diagnostics, supporting quality patient care during the 3rd shift (7:30 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.).
Schedule:
- 3rd shift: 7:30 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) required
- Experience as a generalist in laboratory settings strongly preferred
- Thorough knowledge of laboratory best practices, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
- Ability to effectively and accurately perform a broad range of laboratory tests
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts
- Willingness to adapt to changes and maintain compliance with exemption policies, if applicable
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct and analyze laboratory tests across multiple disciplines (chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, immunology, etc.)
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment
- Accurately document, review, and verify test results for quality assurance
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to relay critical or unexpected results promptly
- Uphold laboratory safety and standard operating procedures
- Ensure specimens are properly labeled, stored, and processed in line with regulatory standards
- Support ongoing process improvements to uphold high standards of patient care
