Seeking a skilled Laboratory professional to provide critical support in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment. This contract opportunity is ideal for those with expertise in blood banking, medical technology, and laboratory analysis who thrive during night shifts and are comfortable working rotating weekends.

Schedule/Hours:

• Night shifts
• Rotating weekends

Qualifications:

• Certification required: ASCP or AMT (will accept either)
• Demonstrated experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist or Medical Lab Technician
• Strong skills in heavy blood banking operations
• Phlebotomy experience preferred
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and patient safety
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment

Responsibilities:

• Perform a range of laboratory tests with a strong emphasis on blood bank procedures
• Collect, prepare, and analyze patient specimens to support accurate diagnosis and safe transfusion practices
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment
• Ensure all laboratory procedures comply with regulatory requirements and established protocols
• Accurately document results and maintain complete, organized records
• Collaborate with medical staff and other laboratory professionals to ensure timely and precise test outcomes
• Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
• Adhere to strict safety and infection control standards
