Qualifications:
- Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license is required
- Strong generalist background with proven experience in blood bank procedures
- ASCP certification is not required for this role
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with clinical teams
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all laboratory testing
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and complex laboratory tests across multiple disciplines with an emphasis on blood bank
- Analyze, interpret, and report laboratory results to assist in patient care decisions
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring all instruments meet quality standards
- Adhere to strict protocols regarding safety, quality control, and specimen handling
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and laboratory staff to provide timely and accurate results
- Assist in quality assurance activities and participate in ongoing educational sessions as needed
