Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a laboratory setting, preferably with a focus in pathology
  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Demonstrated expertise supervising laboratory teams, preferably within gross room or autopsy services
  • Proficiency in developing, implementing, and monitoring quality control and assurance programs
  • Strong skills in mentoring, coaching, and providing technical leadership to both experienced professionals and trainees
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards relevant to laboratory operations

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage daily laboratory and gross room operations, ensuring integration and efficiency among team members
  • Oversee and support the training and professional development of Resident and Fellow Pathologists
  • Select, train, and evaluate personnel; identify ongoing needs for staff development and competency
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance programs, including proficiency testing and peer review protocols
  • Ensure strict compliance with all relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements
  • Continuously analyze and improve workflow processes to optimize performance and outcomes
