Seeking an experienced pathology professional to support laboratory operations in pathology as a Pathologist Assistant. This contract-based opportunity is ideal for individuals who are passionate about high-quality, patient-focused care and are dedicated to ensuring timely and accurate processing of surgical specimens.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 3:00pm – 11:30pm
  • No on-call responsibility required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of recent experience as a Pathology Assistant or Pathologist Assistant
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
  • PA (ASCP) certification is mandatory and must be active at the time of submission
  • Certification documentation required upon submission
  • Previous travel assignment experience is preferred but not required
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination series or valid exemption required before start date

Responsibilities:

  • Independently examine and process surgical specimens, ensuring timely completion of case reports
  • Perform gross dissection and support microscopic diagnosis with precision and adherence to protocols
  • Utilize gross room hoods and cryostats for frozen sectioning according to established standards
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to promote accurate and reliable laboratory outcomes
  • Maintain compliance with all laboratory protocols, safety guidelines, and quality standards
  • Collaborate effectively within the lab team to facilitate smooth daily operations
