A dedicated healthcare facility is seeking a skilled professional to provide expert pathology support as a Pathology Assistant during the evening shift. This contract opportunity allows you to independently examine surgical specimens and contribute to high-quality patient care in a dynamic laboratory environment.

Schedule:

  • 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m., Monday through Friday

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in pathology or as a pathologist assistant
  • Certification as a Pathologists’ Assistant (PA ASCP) required, with documentation available at submission
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
  • Prior travel experience is a plus, though not mandatory
  • Completion of full COVID-19 vaccination series or valid exemption by start date

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Proficient in gross dissection, specimen handling, and frozen sectioning
  • Experience working with Gross Room Hoods and cryostats
  • Strong background in independently examining surgical specimens and generating timely surgical case reports
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking and problem-solving to assure reliable clinical results
  • Detail-oriented with strict adherence to protocols for quality and compliance

Responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate gross examination and dissection of surgical pathology specimens
  • Support diagnosis through timely preparation and completion of case reports
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including gross room hoods and cryostats
  • Collaborate with the pathology team to deliver patient-centered care and reliable clinical outcomes
  • Maintain compliance with all facility protocols and standards
