This 8-week contract role offers a structured weekday schedule with opportunities for additional hours, providing a dynamic environment where your specialized expertise makes a direct impact.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm

Key Qualifications:

  • Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologist’s Assistant program OR PA (ASCP) certification
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience working as a Laboratory Pathology Assistant or Pathologist Assistant in a clinical setting
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and provide care in both Intensive Care and General Practice Units

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and assist with the examination of surgical specimens and post-mortem examinations as directed
  • Support pathologists in the diagnosis of patient samples by ensuring accurate processing and documentation
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate patient care information to physicians, co-workers, and other healthcare staff
  • Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures as required
  • Maintain high standards of quality control, safety, and compliance with department protocols
  • Accurately complete patient care documentation and billing processes
  • As needed, provide mentorship and guidance to respiratory therapists, externs, and students assigned to the department
