Pathology Assistant | Cleveland, Ohio

This opportunity offers a contract position for a Laboratory - Pathology Assistant/Pathologist Assistant, ideal for individuals eager to contribute their expertise over a 13-week assignment.

Schedule:

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• 8:00am – 6:30pm
• Friday through Monday

Qualifications:

• ASCP certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Pathology or Pathologist Assistant
• Strong understanding of laboratory protocols and specimen processing
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Capability to work collaboratively with pathology and laboratory staff
• Adept with relevant laboratory and pathology information systems

Responsibilities:

• Gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens under the guidance of a pathologist
• Preparation, fixation, and processing of tissue samples
• Accurate documentation of specimen data and maintaining specimen integrity throughout workflow
• Assisting pathologists with intraoperative consultations and frozen section preparation
• Adhering to quality and safety guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Collaborating with other laboratory personnel to support daily operations and troubleshoot any specimen-related issues
• Participating in maintenance and inventory of laboratory equipment and supplies
