Pathology Lab Assistant | Elyria, Ohio

A skilled Laboratory Pathology Assistant is needed for a 13-week contract opportunity. This role requires expertise as a Pathologist Assistant, supporting laboratory operations and specimen analysis.

Schedule/Hours:

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Days: Friday through Monday
• Hours: 8:00am–6:30pm

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Pathologist Assistant (ASCP required)
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with lab and pathology staff
• Attention to detail in specimen handling and documentation

Responsibilities:

• Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens under the direction of pathologists
• Prepare specimens for histological processing and diagnostic evaluation
• Ensure accurate labeling and tracking of all samples
• Maintain comprehensive records in compliance with laboratory protocols
• Assist with frozen sections and specimen photography when needed
• Uphold all safety and infection control procedures within the lab environment
