We are searching for a highly skilled professional with expertise as a Laboratory Pathology Assistant or Pathologist Assistant to support laboratory operations during a 13-week assignment. Your vital contributions will ensure high-quality patient care within a dedicated team environment.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Four 10-hour shifts per week
  • Friday to Monday, 8:00am – 6:30pm

Qualifications:

  • ASCP certification is required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in pathology/laboratory settings
  • Proficiency in laboratory protocols, specimen grossing, and histology workflows
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation, gross examination, and dissection of surgical specimens according to established protocols
  • Prepare frozen sections, select and submit tissue for microscopic analysis
  • Accurately document gross and microscopic findings, maintaining thorough records
  • Handle laboratory equipment and instrumentation in compliance with safety guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with pathologists, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals to maintain seamless workflow
  • Contribute to quality assurance initiatives and promote efficient laboratory practices
