Step into a vital laboratory role working closely with the pathology team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. This contract position is suited for experienced Pathology Assistants looking to support surgical teams in a fast-paced, rewarding environment.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm
  • No call required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a Pathology Assistant
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
  • Current PA (ASCP) certification—must be on file at the time of submission
  • Prior travel experience preferred, but not required
  • Completion of the full COVID vaccine series or a valid exemption by start date (no exceptions)
  • Ability to demonstrate professional reliability—no excessive time off, and all time off must be submitted in advance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently examine surgical specimens and efficiently complete surgical case reports
  • Perform accurate gross dissection to assist microscopic diagnosis, adhering to established protocols and standards
  • Utilize critical thinking skills for complex problem solving to ensure clinical accuracy and patient safety
  • Work within the Gross Room using hoods and cryostats for frozen sectioning as required by unit specifications
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to provide timely, precise, and reliable laboratory support
