Schedule:
- Four 10-hour shifts
- Days: 8:00 am – 6:30 pm
- Friday through Monday
Key Qualifications:
- Current ASCP certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of direct experience as a Pathology or Pathologist Assistant
- Sound knowledge of grossing techniques, tissue processing, and laboratory best practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with an ability to collaborate effectively with pathologists and laboratory staff
- Proficiency with laboratory information systems and specimen tracking
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform gross examination and sectioning of surgical specimens
- Prepare and process tissue samples for histologic evaluation
- Accurately label, document, and maintain specimen integrity throughout all stages
- Assist pathologists with autopsies and specialized procedures as requested
- Ensure compliance with all laboratory safety protocols and regulatory requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation and assist with quality control measures
