A rewarding opportunity awaits experienced Laboratory professionals with expertise as Pathology Assistants. This contract position caters to individuals passionate about patient-focused care, surgical specimen examination, and maintaining the highest standards in anatomical pathology. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., offering a steady shift with no call responsibilities required.

Schedule:

  • 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m., Monday through Friday

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience as a Pathology Assistant or Pathologist Assistant
  • Certification on file at submission is mandatory
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred
  • PA (ASCP) certification required
  • Prior travel experience is preferred but not required
  • Complete COVID vaccine series or valid exemption by start date

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently perform accurate gross dissection on specimens to support surgical case reporting
  • Examine surgical specimens in compliance with protocols and deliver prompt case documentation
  • Utilize gross room hoods and cryostats for frozen sectioning as required by unit specifications
  • Exercise critical thinking and problem-solving skills to achieve precise, reliable clinical outcomes
  • Ensure all work aligns with established protocols for patient safety and efficient laboratory workflow
