A dynamic contract opportunity awaits experienced Laboratory professionals skilled as Pathology Assistants. This position focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care through accurate examination and preparation of surgical specimens. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring swift and precise gross dissections, which support timely pathological diagnoses.

Schedule:

  • 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience as a Pathology Assistant in a laboratory setting
  • PA (ASCP) certification is required; certification documentation must be provided at the time of submission
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Prior travel experience is advantageous, not mandatory
  • Completion of COVID vaccine series or a valid exemption is required before start date

Responsibilities:

  • Independently examine and process surgical specimens in compliance with established protocols
  • Perform accurate gross dissection and ensure timely delivery of surgical case reports
  • Operate gross room hoods and utilize cryostats for frozen sectioning as needed
  • Apply critical thinking and strong analytical skills to achieve reliable clinical outcomes
  • Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to all safety and quality standards
  • Collaborate seamlessly with pathologists and laboratory staff to optimize patient care
