Seeking an experienced professional to support the pathology laboratory team. This position is ideal for a qualified Pathology Assistant with strong technical expertise and meticulous attention to detail.

Schedule:

  • Four 10-hour shifts per week
  • Day shift: 8:00am – 6:30pm
  • Friday through Monday

Key Qualifications:

  • ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Pathology Assistant
  • Demonstrated proficiency in grossing specimens and preparing tissue samples
  • Strong understanding of laboratory safety guidelines and protocols
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with pathologists, technicians, and support staff

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform gross examinations and dissections of surgical specimens under supervision of a pathologist
  • Prepare, label, and process tissue samples according to established standards
  • Record and verify specimen data with accuracy
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laboratory regulations and quality assurance protocols
  • Provide support for autopsies as needed
  • Assist in maintaining records, inventory, and documentation in accordance with laboratory procedures
