• Previous experience working as a Pathology Assistant or Pathologist Assistant
• Strong knowledge of laboratory protocols, specimen handling, and diagnostic procedures
• Ability to gross surgical specimens and prepare tissues for analysis
• Proficiency in adhering to laboratory safety regulations
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation abilities
• ASCP certification, preferred
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant laboratory science or completion of accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program

Responsibilities:

• Receive, accession, and dissect surgical specimens according to established protocols
• Prepare detailed gross descriptions and ensure proper specimen labeling
• Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory staff for seamless case workflow
• Maintain accurate records and uphold data integrity in all laboratory processes
• Support quality assurance and participate in continuing education
• Assist with autopsies or post-mortem examinations as assigned
• Ensure compliance with safety and best practice standards
