Step into a dynamic healthcare environment in Atlanta as a Medical Assistant, where your skills will be utilized in a reputable outpatient clinical setting. This 13-week contract offers an immediate start and a consistent weekday schedule from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, with 40 hours per week.
Key Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Successful completion of a medical assistant training program from an accredited institution (certificate required)
- At least one year of relevant work experience
- Basic computer literacy
- Active AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be maintained throughout employment)
- Current certification as one of the following:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from AAMA
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from AMT
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from NHA
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from NCCT
- Ability to complete all orientation and annual skills competency requirements
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers and nursing staff
- Assist with the management of patients presenting with common conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, hyperlipidemia, congestive heart failure, urinary tract infections, and pain
- Perform patient intake, vital sign measurements, and medical history documentation
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure infection control protocols are followed
- Update and maintain electronic medical records accurately
- Assist with minor clinical procedures as required
