An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Medical Assistant to provide patient-centered care in a busy OB clinic. This contract position offers a consistent daytime schedule, perfect for professionals seeking steady hours in a supportive clinical environment.
Schedule:
- 5x8 hour shifts per week
- Day shifts
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
- Previous experience in an OB/GYN or women’s health setting strongly preferred
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and basic clinical procedures
- Exceptional communication skills and a compassionate, patient-focused approach
Responsibilities:
- Greet and prepare patients for examinations and procedures in the OB clinic
- Obtain and document vital signs, patient histories, and other pertinent information
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures
- Collect specimens and prepare lab requisitions as needed
- Administer injections, perform venipuncture, and carry out basic point-of-care testing
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records in the EHR system
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked, sanitized, and ready for patient care
- Support overall clinic flow and work collaboratively with providers and staff
