Step into a vital clinical support role where your skills as a Medical Assistant make a meaningful impact on patient care. This contract opportunity offers a 13-week assignment with a full-time schedule, supporting a dynamic internal medicine environment that addresses conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, hyperlipidemia, CHF, UTI, and pain management.
Schedule/Hours:
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Monday through Friday
- 40 hours per week
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum one year of recent experience as a Medical Assistant
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program
- Current AHA BLS certification (must be maintained throughout employment)
- Certification required (must hold one):
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – AAMA
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – AMT
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – NHA
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) – NCCT
- Proficiency with basic computer applications
- Ability to complete all required orientation, annual competency, and ongoing certification
Responsibilities:
- Assist in supporting top clinical diagnoses including hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, and more
- Obtain patient vital signs and document health history
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms and equipment
- Support providers with examinations, procedures, and patient communication
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols
- Monitor, record, and report patient information accurately into EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient care
