Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Medical Physics, Physics, or a related discipline
- Board certification or eligibility in Medical Physics or Radiation Oncology (as appropriate)
- Proven background in external beam radiation therapy and brachytherapy procedures
- Prior experience with linear accelerators, treatment planning systems, and quality assurance protocols
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to upholding safety and regulatory standards
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of radiation therapy, including calibration, dosimetry, and quality assurance
- Collaborate closely with physicians, dosimetrists, and technologists to ensure optimal treatment planning and delivery
- Conduct and review safety assessments for new and ongoing treatment protocols
- Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and institutional safety requirements
- Participate in the development of departmental policies, training, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Serve as a resource for clinical staff, providing education and updates on technological advancements and best practices
