Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Medical Physics, Physics, or a related discipline
  • Board certification or eligibility in Medical Physics or Radiation Oncology (as appropriate)
  • Proven background in external beam radiation therapy and brachytherapy procedures
  • Prior experience with linear accelerators, treatment planning systems, and quality assurance protocols
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Commitment to upholding safety and regulatory standards

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of radiation therapy, including calibration, dosimetry, and quality assurance
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, dosimetrists, and technologists to ensure optimal treatment planning and delivery
  • Conduct and review safety assessments for new and ongoing treatment protocols
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and institutional safety requirements
  • Participate in the development of departmental policies, training, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Serve as a resource for clinical staff, providing education and updates on technological advancements and best practices
