Seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join a dynamic telehealth program focused on GLP-1 weight management care. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers flexible scheduling with both full-time (40-50 hours/week) and part-time (25-30 hours/week) options, starting at 8:30am CST. The position supports remote patient evaluation, prescribing, and education in a virtual setting, prioritizing clinical excellence and safe medication management.
In this role, you’ll leverage your expertise to provide high-quality patient consultations, prescribe GLP-1 therapy when indicated, and foster patient understanding of their treatment plans. You’ll work within established clinical protocols to ensure safety and effective outcomes while contributing to a collaborative, patient-centered approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive telehealth patient evaluations, reviewing histories and assessing eligibility for GLP-1 therapy.
- Make sound clinical decisions and prescribe appropriate GLP-1 medications, monitoring progress and adjusting plans as clinically necessary.
- Educate patients virtually on medication use, expected outcomes, and side effects, encouraging adherence and open communication.
- Diligently document all encounters in compliance with HIPAA, state and federal regulations, and organization standards.
- Recognize complex or high-risk scenarios and escalate to the Clinical Director, ensuring patient safety.
Qualifications:
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in good standing for Texas
- Board certified (FNP, AGNP, or comparable specialty)
- DEA registration with ability to prescribe in Texas
- Experience with telehealth preferred
- Familiarity with GLP-1 medications or obesity/metabolic health highly valued
- Multistate licensure a plus
