Embark on a dynamic telehealth opportunity as a Nurse Practitioner supporting a protocol-driven GLP-1 Weight Management Program. Providers in this role deliver efficient, high-quality virtual patient care—remotely evaluating, prescribing, and following up with adult patients enrolled in a specialized weight management platform.
Schedule/Hours:
- Contract assignment—13 weeks with the potential for hire
- Flexible shifts: Choose full-time (40-50 hours) or part-time (25-30 hours) per week
- Weekday start time: 8:30am CST
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct virtual consultations, reviewing patients’ histories and assessing eligibility for GLP-1 therapy while using telehealth platforms.
- Prescribe GLP-1 medications and make clinical decisions based on patient response, safety, and established guidelines.
- Deliver comprehensive education on medication use, dosing, potential side effects, and outcome expectations to support adherence and understanding.
- Document encounters accurately in the electronic health record, meeting all HIPAA and regulatory standards.
- Proactively escalate complex or high-risk cases to ensure patient safety and clarity regarding emergency warning signs.
Qualifications:
- Active Nurse Practitioner license (Texas) in good standing
- Board Certification (FNP, AGNP, or similar)
- DEA registration with authority to prescribe
- Eligible to prescribe GLP-1 medications in Texas
- Prior telehealth or virtual care experience highly desirable
- Experience in obesity medicine, metabolic health, or weight management is preferred
- Familiarity with GLP-1 medication protocols and multistate licensure is a plus
