Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Frisco, TX

Embark on an exciting opportunity as a Nurse Practitioner specializing in remote telehealth consultations within an innovative GLP-1 Weight Management Program. This 13-week contract-to-hire position offers the flexibility of either full-time (40-50 hours) or part-time (25-30 hours) shifts, with a consistent start time of 8:30am CST. The client provides schedule flexibility to accommodate your preferred work hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough virtual patient evaluations via an established telehealth platform, assessing eligibility for GLP-1 therapy by reviewing medical histories, contraindications, and risk factors.
• Prescribe GLP-1 medications when clinically indicated and adjust treatments based on patient response, utilizing protocol-driven clinical judgment.
• Deliver patient education regarding medication dosing, administration, expected results, and side effects to foster adherence and safety.
• Maintain accurate, detailed patient documentation in the electronic health record to ensure regulatory compliance and data integrity.
• Recognize complex or high-risk clinical scenarios, escalate appropriately to the Clinical Director, and provide guidance on emergency warning signs.

Required Background:

• Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Texas
• Board certification as an FNP, AGNP, or relevant specialty
• DEA registration with prescriptive authority for GLP-1 medications in Texas
• Previous telehealth experience preferred
• Experience in obesity medicine or metabolic health strongly beneficial
• Familiarity with GLP-1 medication protocols desirable
• Multistate NP licensure considered an asset
