Embark on an exciting opportunity as a Nurse Practitioner specializing in remote telehealth consultations within an innovative GLP-1 Weight Management Program. This 13-week contract-to-hire position offers the flexibility of either full-time (40-50 hours) or part-time (25-30 hours) shifts, with a consistent start time of 8:30am CST. The client provides schedule flexibility to accommodate your preferred work hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough virtual patient evaluations via an established telehealth platform, assessing eligibility for GLP-1 therapy by reviewing medical histories, contraindications, and risk factors.
- Prescribe GLP-1 medications when clinically indicated and adjust treatments based on patient response, utilizing protocol-driven clinical judgment.
- Deliver patient education regarding medication dosing, administration, expected results, and side effects to foster adherence and safety.
- Maintain accurate, detailed patient documentation in the electronic health record to ensure regulatory compliance and data integrity.
- Recognize complex or high-risk clinical scenarios, escalate appropriately to the Clinical Director, and provide guidance on emergency warning signs.
Required Background:
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Texas
- Board certification as an FNP, AGNP, or relevant specialty
- DEA registration with prescriptive authority for GLP-1 medications in Texas
- Previous telehealth experience preferred
- Experience in obesity medicine or metabolic health strongly beneficial
- Familiarity with GLP-1 medication protocols desirable
- Multistate NP licensure considered an asset
