This remote Nurse Practitioner opening offers both part-time (25-30 hours) and full-time (40-50 hours) options, with schedules beginning at 8:30am CST. Flexibility allows you to tailor your weekly hours to fit your lifestyle, and the role is structured for a 13-week contract-to-hire period.
What You’ll Do:
- Evaluate patients via secure telehealth video consultations, reviewing histories and intake details to determine GLP-1 therapy eligibility and identify contraindications.
- Prescribe GLP-1 medications when appropriate, utilizing excellent clinical judgment to adjust plans according to patient needs and response to therapy.
- Provide thorough education on medication usage, potential side effects, dosing schedules, and safety precautions to promote adherence.
- Carefully document all virtual encounters in the EHR, ensuring ongoing compliance with HIPAA and all relevant state and federal telehealth regulations.
- Collaborate closely with the Clinical Director, escalating high-risk cases or atypical responses as necessary, and furnishing patients with clear guidance on warning signs and emergency protocols.
Preferred Background:
- Active Nurse Practitioner license (Texas) in good standing required.
- Board certification (FNP, AGNP, or related specialty) and current DEA registration with prescriptive authority.
- Authorization to prescribe GLP-1 medications in Texas.
- Prior telehealth experience is an advantage.
- Experience in obesity medicine or metabolic health, and knowledge of GLP-1 therapies and dosing protocols is highly valued.
- Multistate licensure is a plus.
