Key Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a CVOR Tech or equivalent surgical technologist credential required
  • Proven experience assisting in cardiovascular operations
  • In-depth knowledge of aseptic technique, sterile processing, and relevant surgical instruments
  • Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and adjust quickly to changing situations during procedures
  • Strong communication abilities and teamwork skills
  • Detail-oriented approach and a commitment to maintaining patient safety

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare CVOR suites and equipment prior to surgical cases
  • Assist surgeons directly by passing instruments and managing supplies during procedures
  • Monitor the sterile field and handle surgical specimens appropriately
  • Support compliance with infection control protocols and hospital standards
  • Collaborate with nursing and anesthesia teams to ensure patient well-being
  • Participate in pre- and post-procedure room turnover and instrument sterilization
  • Respond efficiently to emergent cases and variable surgical needs
