Deliver critical surgical support in a dynamic operating room environment as an experienced CVOR Tech. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to work alongside skilled surgical teams and directly contribute to exceptional patient care in cardiovascular and cardiothoracic procedures.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Day rotation, Monday through Friday
  • Typical shifts start between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM
  • Choose from five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts weekly for a total of 40 hours
  • Up to 3 on-call shifts per week (8 to 16 hours each)
  • One working weekend and associated call per four-week period
  • 13-week contract duration

Qualifications:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA)
  • BLS certification required
  • Demonstrated CVOR and cardiothoracic surgery experience (including CABG, valve replacements, VATS, and robotic chest procedures)
  • Proven expertise in sterile and surgical scrub techniques
  • Strong knowledge of infection control and surgical safety protocols

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain sterile operative fields and supplies
  • Anticipate surgeon and surgical team needs, including gowning, gloving, draping, and instrument pass-off
  • Keep meticulous counts of surgical instruments and materials
  • Collaborate with RNs and provide essential pre-operative and intra-operative support
  • Ensure rapid, organized OR turnovers between procedures
  • Identify and respond to potential environmental and equipment hazards
  • Assist with suturing, retraction, suctioning, and specimen handling as directed by surgeons
  • Support onboarding and training of new OR staff
