COVR Operating Room Technician (CVOR) in Chula Vista, CA

Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour variable shifts (start between 0615-1100)
• Two shifts scheduled every other weekend
• 12 hours of weekend on-call and 20 hours of weekday on-call in a 4-week period
• 30-minute response time required for all on-call duties
• Weekend call is in addition to regularly scheduled weekend shifts

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years of experience as a scrub person in a hospital surgical setting
• Completion of an approved program for Operating Room Technicians or equivalent demonstrated technical skills through on-the-job training
• Scrub Tech Certification preferred
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required
• Proficient experience supporting cardiovascular, orthopedic, neuro, and robotic surgical cases

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, organize, and maintain the sterile field and surgical instruments for CVOR procedures
• Assist surgical team members efficiently during operative cases, ensuring all equipment is available and functioning
• Perform as a key member in heart surgery cases; provide technical support for ortho, neuro, and robotic procedures when not assigned to cardiovascular cases
• Respond promptly to on-call assignments within required response window
• Adhere to strict safety and infection control protocols, maintaining patient and staff safety
